July is Dry Eye Awareness Month, a timely opportunity to explore how specialty eye care and collaborative management can support patients who continue to struggle despite conventional treatment.

This article looks at why a structured pre- and post-surgery routine can help support perioperative ocular surface care across cataract, corneal, and refractive procedures.

Secondary IOL fixation has evolved significantly with flanged intrascleral haptic fixation techniques, but one of the most delicate steps remains haptic externalization. In this article, we look at how the Amon Forceps Needle’s innovative design, integrating micro-forceps within a 27G needle, supports a more controlled approach by shifting the technique from threading to grasping.

A recent Labtician survey of 140 Canadian ODs showed that core dry eye recommendations are already part of routine care. The bigger challenge is helping patients follow multiple steps consistently at home, especially when meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is part of the picture.
