New Generation “Heavier-than-water” endotamponade with optimal rheological properties.
Temporary tamponade after operative treatment of severe retinal detachment with PVR or PDR, particularly for inferior and posterior retinal holes.
Educational Insights
- 69.5% polydimethylsiloane with 10% high molecular weight additive (Siluron Xtra), 30.5% perfluorohexyloctane (F6H8). High extensional viscosity provides to emulsification.
- Highly resistant to emulsification
- Easy to inject and aspirate
- Viscosity of approximately 1,350 mPas at 25°C, allowing better handling during injection and removal.
- Specific gravity of 1.06g/cm³ at 25°C
- 25G compatible
