Labtician Ophthalmics started over 60 years ago when we developed the first solid silicone retinal implant. Since then we have grown into a Canada-based leader in surgical eye care products and equipment. Our team of experienced, principled people have global expertise and a heart for helping our partners and customers realize their vision.
60 Years & Still Growing
It has been 60 years since Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc. was credited with the development of the first solid silicone retinal implant by Dr. Louis Girard (Houston, Texas, U.S.A) in a presentation to the Mid-Southern Section Meeting of the Association for Research in Ophthalmology in 1959. Labtician is now the world leader in the manufacturing of solid silicone and closed cell sponge retinal implants with our partners in over 80 countries. Building on our base as a manufacturer of high quality retinal implants, Labtician has also chosen to manufacture additional high quality ophthalmic and oculoplastic product lines such as silicone oil, intravitreal injection kits and gold lid weights.
Evolution
Labtician has evolved from a manufacturer of quality ophthalmic products for the global market to a specialized commercialization partner for the Canadian ophthalmic market.
In our capacity as a commercialization partner we offer the “complete Canadian solution”. We are actively involved in the entire commercialization process from pre-launch, to launch and post-launch. This involves regulatory, market access, importation and distribution as well as sales and marketing activities.
Internationally we offer commercialization expertise through our global partners. Our diverse team of principled people will work with you every step of the way.
