It has been more than 50 years since Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc. was credited with the development of the first solid silicone retinal implant by Dr. Louis Girard (Houston, Texas, U.S.A) in a presentation to the Mid-Southern Section Meeting of the Association for Research in Ophthalmology in 1959. Labtician is now the world leader in the manufacturing of the widest range of solid silicone and closed cell sponge retinal implants with distributors in over 90 countries. Building on our base as a manufacturer of high quality retinal implants, Labtician has also chosen to manufacture additional high quality ophthalmic and oculoplastic product lines such as silicone oil and gold lid weights.
Labtician has evolved from being a manufacturer of quality ophthalmic products for the global market to also being a specialized commercialization partner for the Canadian ophthalmic market.
In our capacity as a commercialization partner we offer a “complete Canadian solution”. We are actively involved in the entire commercialization process from pre-launch, launch and post launch. This involves regulatory, market access, importation and distribution as well as sales and marketing activities.
